Prime Minister Rama Responds to President Donald J. Trump’s Invitation to Participate in the Board of Peace

Prime Minister Rama today conveyed, by letter, to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, his response to the invitation to take part in the Board of Peace.

The Prime Minister expressed his full readiness to contribute to this important historic endeavor and to become fully engaged in a joint commitment aimed at translating vision into action.

In the near future, this commitment will also be submitted to the Parliament of Albania for approval.

Dear Mr. President,

I write to express my deepest appreciation for Your strong commitment and visionary leadership in launching the Board of Peace, and to thank You sincerely for inviting me personally to take part in it, as well as my country, the Republic of Albania, to serve as a founding member.

At a moment when conflict and division too often dominate the international landscape, peace must be actively shaped not passively awaited or endlessly discussed in political forums while innocent lives are lost in vain every minute across the globe. The Board of Peace appears as the embodiment of this urgent necessity.

By addressing both the immediate consequences of conflict and the deeper structural causes that perpetuate instability, this initiative has the potential to become a truly transformative model for peacebuilding at the global level. As a new international organization, the Board of Peace is clearly not conceived as yet another forum of declarations, procedures, and deferred responsibility, but rather as a lean and purposeful instrument of leadership and global responsibility.

Peace, when filtered endlessly through layers of procedure, too often arrives too late; this initiative rightly recognizes that timeliness, clarity of mandate, and personal responsibility at the highest level are themselves instruments of peace.

It is therefore both a privilege and an honor to express my full readiness to contribute to this important endeavor and to participate fully in a joint effort that seeks to translate vision into action.

The Republic of Albania has long been a steadfast ally of the United States of America, bound together by shared values, mutual respect, and a common commitment to freedom, democracy, and international security.

The Albanian people will always remember and continue to cherish the principled and decisive role of the United States of America in advancing peace and stability in our region at critical moments of our shared history. In this enduring spirit of partnership, I wish to reaffirm that Republic of Albania stands resolutely with the United States of America in all efforts to promote peace, security, and constructive global engagement.

As I look forward to contributing to the success of the mission of the Board of Peace, please accept, Mr. President and Chairman of the Board, the assurances of my highest consideration.
