Marine Corps-DLA Service Integration Day addresses readiness, logistics challenges

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -

Marine Corps and Defense Logistics Agency leaders met to discuss aligned transformation and operational readiness during the Marine Corps-DLA Service Integration Day conference at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Jan. 7.

DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Mark Simerly emphasized DLA's responsibility to remain aligned with the Marine Corps' rapid modernization efforts and reflected on the progress made since the leaders last met in May 2025.

Simerly said there's been a lot of progress made from last year's discussions that focused on change and transformation.

"There's nobody moving faster and with greater agility than the Marine Corps. We've got a responsibility to stay nested and to keep pace with you all," Simerly said.

Simerly and Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Stephen Sklenka, deputy commandant of installations and logistics, called for a session focused on transparency and problem solving.

"This is not the place to be just nice," Sklenka said. "I'm looking forward to getting things done. So don't, in any way, shape or form hold back."

Other topics of conversation included DLA support to the services, data interoperability and forecasting, and a DLA price benchmarking analysis. The recurring event is designed to ensure the two organizations remain synchronized as they face evolving global logistics challenges.
