BNSF Agriculture and Energy 2026 Independence Day Operating Plan

This year, the Independence Day holiday falls on Saturday, July 4. Agricultural trains will run as usual, and Grain Operations will maintain full coverage during this time.

CARLOAD TRAIN SERVICE
While carload train service will continue uninterrupted on Independence Day, BNSF intends to limit yard, local and road-switch assignments at terminals on Saturday, July 4, in line with customer activity and demand. Note that connecting carriers with reduced operations due to the holiday might result in delays for interline traffic.

Please consult Demurrage Tariff 6004-C for details on free time and charges applicable for Independence Day.
