Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Madison Senior Center (MSC) in late March to help with painting our new mural. It was truly a relaxing and fun experience painting alongside DAMA (Developing Artists, Murals and Alliances) and local artist Emily Rodriguez. We look forward to seeing the final product and unveiling the mural in its new home at the MSC dining site in late June.

There was widescale community involvement through surveys offered online, at community events and at the MSC in late 2025. Overwhelmingly people expressed the desire to have a mural that evokes feelings of welcome and of peace. The artwork, designed by Emily Rodrigues, does a fine job of exemplifying that feeling. The finished product has not been unveiled, but below you will find a picture of the design.

Now we are happy to announce an opportunity for the community to further express those feelings through words. The Madison Senior Center Foundation is hosting a naming contest for our mural. The winner of the contest will have their name included on a plaque that will hang next to the mural, along with the chosen name of the artwork. Use this exciting opportunity to make your lasting mark on this beautiful piece of art that will greet MSC members for years to come! The winning entry will be selected by the Madison Senior Center Foundation. Submit your entry by midnight, Thursday, April 30th.
