Horizon Europe Roadshow to visit Australia’s capital cities from next week

Australia's research and innovation community will have the opportunity to learn more about Horizon Europe as the Horizon Europe Roadshow, hosted by EURAXESS Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), begins its tour of the country's eight state and territory capitals next week.

Following the successful conclusion of negotiations on Australia's association to Horizon Europe from 2027, the roadshow will provide practical information on how Australian researchers and organisations can prepare to participate in Pillar II of Horizon Europe.

From January 2027, Australian entities will have direct and routine access to EU funding under Pillar II on equal terms with EU Member States, allowing them to lead project consortia. Pillar II , Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, covers societal challenges in the health; digital, industry and space; climate, energy and mobility; and food, bioeconomy and agriculture fields.

What to expect

Each half-day event will include practical guidance on how Australian organisations can engage with Horizon Europe.

Sessions will cover Australia's association to Horizon Europe and next steps, as well as the programme's structure and application processes, and guidance on identifying opportunities and building or joining consortia.

There will also be opportunities for questions and open discussion.
