FLETC Surges Law Enforcement Training Capacity with One Big Beautiful Bill Funding

GLYNCO, GA - The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is proud to announce unprecedented gains in training capacity, trainee throughput, and facility improvements, made possible by the $750 million provided through the One Big Beautiful Bill. This historic investment, double FLETC's typical annual budget, has enabled FLETC to further its mission to prepare the nation's law enforcement personnel with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Record-Setting Training Throughput

Since the enactment of One Big Beautiful Bill, FLETC has achieved record levels of trainee throughput. Over the past year, FLETC has graduated 70,485 law enforcement officers and agents. FLETC is currently averaging 5,606 trainees across its four training sites daily, with an additional 4,105 trainees enrolled each day in the online eFLETC Learning Management System.

Strategic Investments in Facilities

Of the $750 million One Big Beautiful Bill funding, $465 million is dedicated to new construction, modernization, and deferred maintenance projects. Key initiatives include:

New and expanded training complexes: Construction of state-of-the-art training venues, firing ranges, including three new ranges and increased capacity at others, and scenario-based instructional spaces at Artesia, Charleston, and Glynco.

Temporary and permanent facility expansions: Modular housing, expanded dining, and administrative spaces to support surges in training demand.

Enterprise-wide upgrades: Roof replacements, water/sewer repairs, fire alarm modernization, HVAC repairs, and renovations to both training and student housing facilities.

These investments ensure FLETC can support our 130 federal partners and maintain the proficiency and readiness of law enforcement personnel nationwide.

Looking Ahead

FLETC remains committed to sustaining and expanding its training capacity to meet the evolving needs of federal law enforcement agencies. FLETC is on track to surpass last year's throughput for trainee graduates, supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's mission and the nation's law enforcement community.

About FLETC

A component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FLETC's mission is to train and support the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers and international partners that are responsible for enforcing laws, treaties, and regulations within the United States and abroad.
