LA PAZ, BOLIVIA - On November 8th, Chairman Jovanovic joined the U.S. Presidential Delegation to the historic inauguration of Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz, where he reaffirmed the United States' commitment to deepen the economic relationship between our nations. President-elect Rodrigo Paz is Bolivia's first elected pro-U.S., pro-reform leader in more than two decades, and the Chairman signaled America's readiness to partner in strengthening Bolivia's economy, securing energy stability, and advancing shared regional prosperity.
Bolivia's new administration represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to expand balanced and transparent trade that supports American workers and industries while helping Bolivia - and South America - thrive.
"Bolivia's new chapter presents a pivotal opportunity for building a lasting economic partnership with America," said Chairman Jovanovic. "Working alongside our partners at the DFC, U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and State Department, EXIM is open for business and ready to help U.S. manufacturers and energy producers deliver for Bolivia, strengthening regional stability while supporting American jobs along the way. Guided by President Trump's leadership, EXIM is helping our partners around the globe buy American to build a stronger future - advancing shared prosperity and security."
Bolivia's abundant mineral reserves and emerging opportunities in agriculture, telecommunications, energy, aviation, and tourism make it one of the region's most promising markets for U.S. exporters. Bolivians already favor American goods and services, giving U.S. firms a clear advantage to enter the market or expand their presence. U.S. products - particularly farm equipment and inputs - remain in high demand, supporting jobs across America's heartland.
For U.S. energy and infrastructure companies, fuel shortages and supply challenges in Bolivia present additional openings for American solutions. EXIM's financing can help ensure these opportunities translate into good-paying jobs at home while promoting stability and growth for the people of Bolivia.
EXIM brings deep experience to this partnership, having worked with more than 20 nations across Latin America and the Caribbean - from Brazil and Colombia to Chile, Peru, and Panama - financing projects that strengthen industries, expand American businesses, and build energy security across the hemisphere. Now, EXIM is working to apply that same proven approach to help Bolivia's new government access reliable financing, secure critical fuel supplies, and fortify its defenses against destabilizing pressures that threaten democratic and economic stability.
EXIM's engagement in Bolivia reflects President Trump's vision of a frontline economic policy that defends American workers and expands U.S. economic leadership. By supporting Bolivia's reform agenda, EXIM is protecting U.S. economic and security interests while helping South America achieve stability and prosperity.
As Congress considers EXIM's reauthorization, Bolivia's new chapter demonstrates why a strong, modern EXIM matters. When America leads with strength and purpose, our workers win, our allies succeed, and our hemisphere grows safer and more prosperous.
