The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has once again been nationally recognized, earning two additional awards for its Explore Outdoors Hawaii website, outdoor.hawaii.gov.
Since its launch in December 2024, the site has received a total of five awards honoring its design excellence, innovation, and public service impact.
MarCom Awards - Gold
With nearly 7,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world, the MarCom Awards honor outstanding achievement in marketing and communication.
Developed in collaboration with DLNR, the new platform serves as a comprehensive, user-friendly portal for residents, visitors, and commercial operators can find and apply for permits, licenses, and reservations to experience Hawaii's natural resources.
DLNR manages nearly 1.3 million acres of state lands, beaches, and coastal waters, along with 750 miles of coastline-the fourth longest in the United States. Its stewardship spans state parks, historic sites, natural area reserves, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, public fishing areas, and game management areas. The Explore Outdoors Hawaii website streamlines access to these resources, bringing the state's vast outdoor opportunities together through a single, intuitive digital experience.
Davey Awards - Silver
The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts presented DLNR with a Silver Davey Award, recognizing the successful collaboration between DLNR and Tyler Technologies in delivering a modern, user-friendly website experience.
