Prime Minister Receives EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner.

The Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Brunner's visit to Armenia and highlighted the consistent development of cooperation with the European Union. The Prime Minister emphasized the fact of the EU's continued assistance in the effective implementation of democratic reforms in our country, adding that the goal of the Armenian Government is to introduce standards in various sectors that will meet EU standards. At the same time, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the work being carried out on the liberalization of Armenia-EU visa regime and added that visa liberalization will be another important step towards deepening and expanding bilateral relations.

In turn, Magnus Brunner stressed that Armenia is successfully and effectively implementing the visa liberalization action plan, expressing hope that Armenia's consistent steps will lead to the expected results. At the same time, the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration once again emphasized the EU's readiness to provide support to promote reforms.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the agenda issues of Armenia-EU cooperation, as well as touched upon other topics of regional importance.
