Pasadena’s Rental Registry Deadline Nears: Avoid Late Fees by Registering Now

PASADENA, Calif - The City of Pasadena's Rent Stabilization Department reminds landlords that the deadline to complete the rental registration for the 2025 cycle is Friday, October 31, 2025. This year is the first in which the Pasadena Rental Housing Board will apply late fees for noncompliance.

The registration fee is $238.00 per unit. To avoid penalties, landlords must complete payment and submit their registration information by the deadline. Please note: the Rent Stabilization Department's office will be closed on Friday, October 31 due to scheduled city closures , so landlords are encouraged to reach out for assistance in advance.

If payment is not made during the registration window, late fees will apply. A seven-day grace period will extend through Friday, November 7, 2025. After the grace period ends, the following late fees will apply per unit:

There are multiple options to complete payment:

• In Person: Pay by check, cash, credit card, or debit card at the City of Pasadena Municipal Services located at 100 N. Garfield Ave., Room N106, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m. (Payments are not accepted at the Rent Stabilization Department office. Please bring a copy of your invoice.)

• By Mail: Pay by check. Be sure to write the Invoice Number, Parcel Number, and billing period on the check, detach the payment slip, and include it with your payment. Payments must be made in full, as partial payments will not be accepted. If paying by mail, send your check well before October 31 to avoid late fees.

Note: Although the Rent Stabilization office will be closed on Friday, October 31, Municipal Services will remain open to accept in-person payments.
