Crapo Announces Staff Changes and New Hires

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) announced new hires and staff changes in his Washington, D.C., and Boise offices.

Kyra Smith has rejoined Senator Crapo's office as Press Secretary. Kyra previously served in Senator Crapo's Washington, D.C., office before moving home to Idaho. In her time away from the office, Kyra oversaw operations at an Idaho-based health care communications business and its subsequent merger with a national brand. She also served as a director of marketing and regulatory affairs, helping health care organizations navigate the transition to value-based care. Kyra holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Idaho.

Brendan Campbell joined Senator Crapo's office as Legislative Assistant. Brendan is responsible for issues related to agriculture, public lands, tribal affairs and energy. Brendan previously worked for the National Park Foundation and the Senate Western Caucus under Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyoming). He holds a bachelor's degree in political science and government from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Kennedy Cummins, a Murtaugh native, has been promoted to Legislative Correspondent. Kennedy first joined Senator Crapo's Boise office as an intern and was quickly promoted to Staff Assistant. In her new role, Kennedy will be responsible for defense, foreign affairs and homeland security issues. She will graduate from Boise State University in December with a degree in political science.

Christian Horchler rejoined the Washington, D.C., office as Staff Assistant and Office Manager. Christian previously served as an intern for the fall 2024 term. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science with an emphasis in foreign affairs from Brigham Young University--Idaho.
