A public hearing to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Debra Wright

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Debra Wright. The hearing will be conducted via video using Microsoft Teams.

Debra Wright was sentenced to a term of 5 years probation, and $215 F/C/R (Fines/Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Assault with Intent to Rob While Armed. Debra Wright was sentenced on November 17, 1972, out of Washtenaw County.

Debra Wright was sentenced to a term of 1 year, 6 months to 15 years for the crime of Breaking and Entering an Occupied Dwelling. Debra Wright was sentenced on August 22, 1975, out of Washtenaw County.

Debra Wright was sentenced to a term of 2 years to 5 years for the crime of Larceny over $100. Debra Wright was sentenced on April 20, 1979, out of Washtenaw County.

Debra Wright was also sentenced to a term of 1 year jail for the crime of Retail Fraud 1st Degree. Debra Wright was sentenced on July 6, 1990, out of Washtenaw County.

Brian Shipman, Chairman of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole Board.

This hearing is required by state law prior to consideration of any pardon by the Governor.
