Airports Council Statement on the Impact of H.R. 1 on U.S. Airports

WASHINGTON - Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, today released the following statement on H.R. 1 and its impact on U.S. airports and the broader aviation system since it was signed into law.

"Since enactment, H.R. 1 has strengthened both border security and aviation safety nationwide. The law made critical investments to modernize the nation's air traffic control system, bolster the controller workforce, replace outdated technology and infrastructure, and reduce runway hotspots. It also provided funding to hire an additional 5,000 CBP officers, enhancing the screening, processing, and safe movement of passengers and cargo. ACI-NA appreciates its close collaboration with Congress and the Trump administration in implementing key airport-related provisions of the law and values its ongoing partnership with both to further improve the safety and efficiency of the national airspace system."
