Financial Times Once Again Honors Dechert Among the Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe

Dechert and its lawyers have once again been recognized for creativity and fresh thinking by the Financial Times in its Innovative Lawyers Awards for Europe, which honors lawyers and firms that have made a critical contribution to transforming their clients' businesses.

Dechert was again recognized among the Most Innovative Law Firms in Europe, this year ranking second among firms headquartered outside Europe and third overall in the FT's Law Firm Index, which assesses firms' innovation, digital maturity, policies towards people, and corporate responsibility.

Dechert was ranked #1 for social responsibility, with a perfect score of 10 out of 10.

This year, Lucía Elizalde-Bulanti, London-based Director of Behavioral Innovation, was named among the FT's Top Ten "Intrapreneurs" for devising an array of behavior change programs that leverage cognitive science and behavioral economics to encourage out-of-the-box thinking and behavior conducive to growth.

Dechert teams were also recognized in two other categories:

STANDOUT (and #2 ranking) - in the "Innovation in Unlocking Capital" category, for devising the first standalone UCITS CLO ETF structure worldwide. Dechert partner Matthias Kerbusch led a Luxembourg-based team that engaged closely with regulatory authorities to provide New York-headquartered Eldridge with a first-of-its-kind fund product suited for marketing in Europe and Southeast Asia.

HIGHLY COMMENDED - in the "Innovation in Private Finance" category, for advising Barings on the structuring and launch of Europe's inaugural private credit CLO. Aaron Scott and Christopher Duerden led a transatlantic team that navigated multiple complexities to drive the €380 million, market-first transaction over the line, closing a landmark deal for Europe's structured finance industry.

The Financial Times consistently ranks Dechert among the most innovative law firms in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and recently ranked the firm among its Top 20 "Most Innovative Global Law Firms" of the past 20 years.

Lawyers and law firms recognized by the FT were honored in a ceremony held at London's Natural History Museum on September 18.
