A 2024 survey by the City of Taunton's Board of Health revealed growing concern around mental health, with 56% of respondents identifying it as a community issue. Mental health was also the most frequently reported long-term impact of COVID-19, influenced by factors like economic instability and increased isolation. Reflecting these concerns, both mental health care and emergency mental health services ranked among the top four most needed services in the community.
