Southern University Gospel Choir nominated 'HBCU Choir of the Year' by Stellar Awards

The Southern University Gospel Choir has been nominated for a Stellar Award in the newly created category, "HBCU Choir of the Year," marking a historic achievement for Southern University and A&M College.

The Stellar Awards are widely regarded as the highest honor in Black gospel music, and this year's nomination places the choir among the inaugural group recognized in this national category celebrating excellence among HBCU gospel choirs.

"This recognition reflects the hard work, consistency, ministry, and excellence our students continue to display both on and off the stage while representing the Southern University System across the country," said Ernest Bowman, director of the Southern University Gospel Choir.
