Sen. Ossoff Expanding Vision Care for Students Across Middle Georgia

Wrightsville, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is expanding vision care for kids across Middle Georgia.

Bringing Republicans and Democrats together, Sen. Ossoff is delivering Federal funding to Community Health Care Systems, Inc. to bring mobile vision care services for students enrolled in Johnson, Baldwin, Hancock, and Twiggs County Schools.

With the funding, Community Health Care Systems plans to bring mobile vision services for school-based clinics in rural Georgia counties with limited access to eye care, including to support monthly eye clinics at schools and outreach to rural areas, ensuring students receive necessary vision care without missing school.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $472,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.

"Every child deserves the vision care they need to see, to read, and to enjoy life," Sen. Ossoff said. "That's why I've appropriated funds to expand mobile vision clinics for children across Middle Georgia."

"We're grateful to Senator Jon Ossoff for his leadership to secure this funding for our mobile vision care services," said Carla Belcher, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Community Health Care Systems, Inc. "With these new Federal resources, we will be able to deliver vision care services to students in Johnson, Baldwin, Hancock, and Twiggs County Schools, helping children get care who wouldn't otherwise."
