Ruslan Edelgeriyev chaired a meeting of interdepartmental working group on climate change and sustainable development.

Presidential Aide and Special Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Ruslan Edelgeriyev Edelgeriyev RuslanAide to the President chaired the 44th meeting of the interdepartmental working group on climate change and sustainable development.

The meeting discussed preparations for the Russian delegation's participation in the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (November 10-21, 2025, Belém, Brazil), as well as in the 2026 Conferences of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification in those Countries Experiencing Serious Drought and/or Desertification, Particularly in Africa (August 17-28, 2026, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), and the Convention on Biological Diversity (October 19-30, 2026, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia).

Following a presentation by Natalya Lukina, Director of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Isaev Centre for Forest Ecology and Productivity, on the significance of Russian forests in the modern world, the participants emphasised the need for more comprehensive integration of scientific research findings on ecosystem functions, particularly forests, conducted under the major state-level innovation project, the Unified National System for Monitoring Climate-Active Substances.
