The North Dakota Department of Commerce Division of Community Services announced grant opportunities through its Energy Efficiency Program to support schools, local governments, and nonprofits with building energy efficiency improvements.

• Funding from North Dakota's State Energy Program is available to support no-cost energy audits, efficiency upgrades, and education programs. Program details, including grant eligibility and program criteria, can be found here.
• North Dakota's Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant (EECBG) can help local government entities that did not receive direct EECBG formula funding from the U.S. Department of Energy with conducting building retrofits, streetlight upgrades, and installing electric vehicle charging stations. • North Dakota's Energy Conservation Grant, supported by tax revenue from the state's Resources Trust Fund, can support energy conservation projects in non-federal public buildings with a 10-year payback period, including LED lighting upgrades, heating ventilation and cooling upgrades, and other weatherization measures. Following an investment grade audit, businesses in North Dakota can access loans for energy upgrade projects through the state's Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund (EERLF). More information on EERLF can be found on the Lake Agassiz Development Group's website, the state's implementing partner.
