Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg Pan Qingjiang Meets with the Delegation of Gauteng Provincial Legislature before Their Visit to China

On March 11, 2026, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg, met with the delegation of Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) led by Ms. Morakane Mosupyoe, the Speaker of GPL, before their visit to China. Mr. Pan briefed the ongoing Two Sessions of China and the development of China-South Africa relations and sub-national cooperation. The Consul General emphasized that China is committed to further expanding high-level opening up, benefiting more and better the people of all countries including South Africa with China's development, and providing valuable stability and certainty to a turbulent world. He expressed the hope that the visit would be a fruitful one that further enhances the friendship between Gauteng and China, contributing to the development of China-South Africa relations. The Speaker and other delegation members expressed their expectation to this benchmarking visit and hoped that the visit would further deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides.
