Finals are right around the corner, but there's still time to enjoy the city before campus quiets down for winter break. Whether you want to hear live music, have a (chilly) outdoor escape, catch a game, or check out new indie comics, this weekend offers plenty of ways to unwind and make the most of Boston and the holiday season.

Treblemakers Final Concert Fall 2025

The Treblemakers close out the semester with a night of new arrangements, fresh voices, and the full set of songs they've rehearsed over the past few months. The show also includes optional solo performances from members. It's an easy way to catch some live music and support one of BU's a cappella groups before finals week kicks in.

Thursday, December 4, 8:30 to 9:45 pm, GSU Conference Auditorium, 775 Commonwealth Ave. Free admission.

BU Men's Ice Hockey vs. Vermont

Catch the Terriers as they face Vermont in a Hockey East matchup at Agganis Arena. Expect a fast, physical game and a strong crowd as BU looks to bring back some energy and bounce this season. Streaming is available on ESPN+ if you can't make it in person.

Friday, December 5, 7 to 10 pm, Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave. Purchase tickets here.

Beginner Winter Hike: Lonesome Lake

Get an early start on winter hiking with a guided trip to Lonesome Lake, one of New Hampshire's more accessible cold-weather trails. The route follows a steady climb through quiet forest to a frozen lakeshore with views of snow-covered peaks. Along the way, participants will pick up basic winter hiking skills, including safety tips. All necessary gear can be borrowed from BU Outdoor Programs, and transportation is provided by FitRec.

Saturday, December 6, from 6 am to 6 pm. More info will be provided upon registration. This event is $35 for FitRec members, $40 for nonmembers.

Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE)

MICE returns to BU for a weekend celebrating independent comics and graphic novels, bringing together hundreds of artists, small presses, and fans. Visitors can browse new work, sit in on panel conversations, and try hands-on workshops geared toward all ages and experience levels. It's a relaxed way to explore the latest in indie comics and meet the creators behind them.

Saturday, December 6, 11 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, December 7, 11 am to 5 pm, Fuller Building, 808 Commonwealth Ave. Free and open to the public.

BU Bassline Winter Concert

BU Bassline closes out the semester with a winter performance featuring their 2025-2026 set list, highlighting music by artists of color. The all-gender a cappella group's repertoire spans R&B, soul, funk, and other genres rooted in those traditions. It's a chance to hear their new arrangements and support a group focused on building community through music.

Saturday, December 6, 7 to 8 pm, Life Science & Engineering Building, 24 Cummington Mall. Free admission.

Intermediate Winter Hike and Cafe Stop: Kearsarge North

If you're ready to level up from beginner trails, this winter hike up Kearsarge North offers a real challenge. The route gains more than 2,500 feet over roughly three miles, moving through quiet, snow-covered woods before opening onto a fire tower with expansive views of the surrounding mountains. Clothing and gear can be borrowed from BU Outdoor Programs, and transportation is provided by FitRec.

Sunday, December 7, from 6 am to 6 pm. More info will be provided upon registration. This event is $35 for FitRec members, $40 for nonmembers.

In Achord Fall '25 Final Concert

In Achord closes out the semester with an evening of music that brings together everything the group has worked on this fall. The program features the full set they've been working on over the past few months, along with a few smaller projects members have prepared. It's a relaxed, end-of-semester send-off and a chance to support BU's a cappella groups before finals begin.

Sunday, December 7, 7 to 9 pm, Photonics Building, 8 St. Mary's St. Free admission.
