Grassley Applauds Trump Administration for Delivering for Iowa Biofuels

BUTLER COUNTY, IOWA - U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) welcomed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin's announcement in Iowa today that the EPA will reallocate 100% of all Small Refinery Exemptions (SREs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard for the difference between projected and actual exempted volumes for 2025 SREs.

"The Trump administration is carrying through on its promise to support Iowa family farmers and biofuel producers. I worked closely with the White House, along with Sen. Ernst and Reps. Hinson, Miller-Meeks, Nunn and Feenstra, to secure full reallocation for all exempted biofuels, and I appreciate the Trump administration following through in a timely fashion. Today's decision is a major boost for Iowa's rural economy and the 31,000 Iowa jobs that biofuels directly employ."

In August, the EPA announced its proposal "to reallocate 100 percent of the difference between projected and actual exempted volumes for 2025 SREs into the 2026 and 2027 Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) before the end of October 2026."
