MRH&C CEO John Ayoub Receives Prestigious Healthcare Leadership Award

Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics (MRH&C) is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer John J. Ayoub, FACHE, has been named the 2026 Senior Careerist Award recipient by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) of South Dakota.

Ayoub received the recognition during the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) Awards Luncheon, held in conjunction with the association's 100th Annual Convention. The award recognizes Ayoub's leadership, professional accomplishments and longstanding commitment to strengthening healthcare throughout South Dakota.

Throughout his career, Ayoub has demonstrated a dedication to building strong healthcare teams, developing sustainable organizations and establishing strategic partnerships that help ensure patients in rural communities have access to high-quality care close to home.

Under his leadership, MRH&C has experienced significant growth and advancement, earning national recognition as a top critical access hospital. His commitment to strengthening rural healthcare has helped position MRH&C as an organization focused on quality, innovation and meeting the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

Ayoub's contributions extend well beyond MRH&C. He currently serves on the SDAHO Board of Trustees and the American Hospital Association's Rural Health Services Committee and chairs SDAHO's Council on Education. Through these roles, he helps advocate for rural healthcare organizations and contributes to discussions shaping the future of healthcare delivery.

A published author and former emergency medical technician (EMT), Ayoub brings a unique perspective to healthcare leadership. His professional accomplishments have also earned him recognition from Becker's Hospital Review, which has named him among its critical access hospital "CEOs to Know" four times.

While these professional honors reflect his accomplishments, Ayoub's leadership is perhaps most evident in his commitment to the people and communities MRH&C serves. His emphasis on teamwork, strategic planning and organizational improvement continues to guide the hospital's mission of providing quality healthcare close to home.
