USCIB Congratulates Luke Lindberg on Appointment to Lead World Food Program

Washington, DC, September 18, 2026-The United States Council for International Business (USCIB) congratulates Luke J. Lindberg on his appointment to lead the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). Previously, Lindberg served as Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The WFP, the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and food insecurity, is aimed at providing an emergency response to global food shortages. WFP's work to combat hunger, support farmers, and help communities build resilience complements USCIB's efforts to promote agricultural innovation, open markets, efficient supply chains, and public-private collaboration. Together, these efforts can help expand access to food, boost agricultural productivity, strengthen local economies, and advance long-term food security for vulnerable communities worldwide.
