UC Day of Giving raises $2.8 million
Donations support students, research and UC programs

For 24 hours - from noon April 14 to noon April 15 - the Bearcat community came together with a shared purpose. The result: more than $2.86 million raised from more than 3,000 donors supporting initiatives across the University of Cincinnati and UC Health.
"Each gift contributes to something bigger - opening doors for students, powering research, and strengthening the university's future," said Rich Bundy, president of the UC Foundation and UC vice president of advancement.
Day of Giving is about connection. It's about coming together to support what makes UC strong today - and what will carry us forward tomorrow.

UC Day of Giving highlights:
- 1,115 donors gave more than $250,000 to support student scholarships across the university. This generosity plays a vital role in ensuring UC students can stay enrolled and graduate on time.
- ยทCauses such as the UC Student Emergency Fund, UC Fund for Scholarships and the Bearcats Pantry & Resource Center benefited from 256 donors who made targeted gifts to support student success. Learn more about driving student success through philanthropy.
- 52 UC Day of Giving ambassadors inspired 878 gifts totaling a collective $49,160.
Many UC Day of Giving gifts will significantly shape and strengthen the future of the university community, including:
- Martha Moody, Med '82, and Martin Jacobs donated $50,000 to establish the Moody/Jacobs Family Endowed Scholarship Fund for the College of Medicine to help support students who are pursuing study abroad and global health learning experiences.
- Francie Wolgin, Nur '69, '83 gave $50,000 to create the Francie Wolgin Endowment Fund in the College of Nursing to support Advanced Practice Registered Nurse students with a career focus in community health, school-based health or family practice.
- Myers for Judge Committee gave $50,000 to the Judge Beth Myers Public Interest Fellowship Endowment Fund to support summer public interest fellowships.
- Fred V. Lucas, MD and Johan D. Lucas, MD donated $2 million to create the Fred V. Lucas, MD, Endowed Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine to support academic activities within the clinical and/or anatomical pathway programs.
