D’angelo Terrell Fairley, Jr Guilty in Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Witness Tampering, and Supplying Contraband Cases

HILLSBORO, Ore- On August 4, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Ricardo Menchaca sentenced D'Angelo Terrell Fairley, Jr., to 90 months in prison following his convictions for unauthorized use of a vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of witness tampering. On August 18, 2026, he received an additional 16-month sentence after he pleaded guilty to supplying contraband. His total sentence amounts to 106 months in prison. These cases were prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Alicia Gerten.

At the time of these offenses, the defendant was already a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and was on supervision for second-degree robbery with a firearm. On October 20, 2025, the defendant was driving the victim home from Portland when an argument ensued. He expressed a desire for her to earn more money, while she preferred to return home. They also argued about their relationship, which the victim had recently ended.

As they exited the vehicle, the two struggled over the keys, and the defendant retrieved them and fled the scene in the victim's car. The victim reported that the defendant also possessed a firearm and racked the slide, causing a bullet to eject.

While in custody at the Washington County Jail, the defendant repeatedly violated a no-contact order issued by the court and was prohibited from using any digital devices. Jail deputies discovered that the defendant was using PIN numbers assigned to other adults in custody to access tablet devices and circumvent the court's order. A search of his cell revealed controlled substances.

The Washington County District Attorney's Office commends the work of the Beaverton Police Department and Washington County Jail staff on these cases.

The defendant will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
