WASHINGTON, D.C. - Yesterday, Congressman Addison McDowell (NC-06) hosted a Military Service Academy Night in Kernersville for students, parents, and educators to learn about the nomination and appointment process for attending a U.S. service academy.
"U.S. Service Academies help craft America's best and brightest young minds into the leaders and officers that will safeguard our country's future," said Rep. McDowell. "Nominating young men and women to our Service Academies is one of my highest responsibilities in Congress, and it was an honor to attend last night's Military Service Academy Night to meet these young individuals firsthand. Having seen the talent that North Carolina has to offer, I'm sure our future is in good hands."
Students interested in applying for a nomination to a U.S. Service Academy must submit their applications to Congressman McDowell's office by Friday, October 31, 2025.
