Aggravated Battery

(PEORIA, IL) On Monday, October 6, 2025, at approximately 6:28 p.m., Peoria Police officers responded to the 2800 block of W. Hayes Avenue following a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds had been fired. The initial alert reported five rounds, followed shortly by a second alert for an additional twelve rounds.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male in the front yard of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the Peoria Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.

At this time, no suspect information is available. This incident remains under active investigation.
