Greetings to the faculty of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences

The message reads, in part:

"Established in September 1966 as the Institute of Far Eastern Studies, it has come a long way in its development and built a track record of success to emerge as one of the leading centres of oriental studies in our country. Outstanding academics and faculty members have worked hard to create respected schools of research and train several generations of specialists.

Today's ICCA RAS team is a worthy successor to the traditions of excellence and achievement established by its predecessors. It carries out comprehensive research projects to explore political and economic developments, as well as social and cultural trends in China, Japan, Korea, ASEAN countries, and Central Asian republics, while constantly expanding its research horizon. The institute has been making a meaningful contribution to promoting Russia's bilateral relations with the countries belonging to this region and helping improve the way social sciences are taught in Russia. The institute's academics, both young and accomplished, as well as those who complete professional advancement courses, possess deep fundamental knowledge that they can effectively use in their research, as public officials, in diplomatic service, journalism and entrepreneurship.

I am convinced that the institute's team will remain effective in fulfilling its objectives while demonstrating excellent results."
