Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • Three aggravated assaults reported this week with two still open investigations. Charges were referred to the prosecutor in the last case where the suspect strangled the victim.
  • Only two auto thefts, a 2006 Toyota Scion and 2008 Chevy Cobalt. One victim had accidentally left the keys in the car unsecured. The Chevy was recovered after an officer located it later in the night and the driver was arrested.
  • Two residential burglaries reported with one still an open investigation. In the other case, the man is seen trying front and sliding doors to the home. Both doors were secured, and he did not make entry. We recommend two locks on doors and windows, including using a dowel in windows or sliding doors.
  • Three commercial burglaries reported. Charges were referred to the prosecutor on one case after the suspect returned to steal from a store he had previously been trespassed from. In another case, the fence was cut to steal property from a commercial business and multiple boxes of supplies were stolen. In the last case, an e-bike was solen from a commercial business' maintenance area. It was recovered after the suspect ditched the bike and a witness reported him making some odd comments about it possibly being stolen.
  • Seven vehicle prowls or vandalisms reported this week. Some of the property stolen was an apple watch, longboard, tool bag, clothing, lottery tickets, backpack and sunglasses. Remove valuables from the vehicle and double check if it is secured before leaving it to prevent loss of property.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 999 calls for service this week.
  • In this week's photo, OPD joined other regional first responders to celebrate military personnel headed out for Foofaraw 2025. First responders lined the water with their vehicles' lights flashing to send them off on their day of fun.
