CBC Receives Global, National and Local Recognition for Growth and Financial Performance

Bank Ranks Among Top-Performing Banks Worldwide, Leading U.S. Deposit Franchises and Orange County's Fastest-Growing Large Private Companies

IRVINE, Calif., - [Oct. 7, 2026] - Commercial Bank of California (CBC) has received three recent recognitions spanning company growth, deposit franchise strength and overall financial performance, with rankings from Forbes and Statista, S&P Global Market Intelligence and the Orange County Business Journal.

Recent recognition includes:

  • Forbes World's Top Performing Banks 2026: Forbes and Statista named CBC to the inaugural list of 500 banks worldwide. The ranking evaluates banks against their peers across four areas: profitability, growth and earnings quality, capital and funding resilience, and asset quality and efficiency. CBC is one of 186 banks on the list located in North and South America.
  • S&P Global Market Intelligence Top Deposit Franchise: S&P Global Market Intelligence ranked Commercial Bank of California No. 20 among large U.S. community banks by deposit franchise. The analysis evaluated banks with $3 billion to $10 billion in assets across eight weighted measures, including noninterest-bearing deposits, deposit costs, deposit growth and deposit efficiency
  • OCBJ's Fastest-Growing Private Companies: The Orange County Business Journal ranked CBC Bancorp, the bank's Irvine-based holding company, No. 6 among the fastest-growing large private companies headquartered in Orange County. CBC Bancorp recorded 66.1% revenue growth over the two-year period.

"CBC has always believed growth should be purposeful," said Ash Patel, chairman, president and CEO of Commercial Bank of California. "That means expanding in ways that strengthen the bank, deepen client relationships and create long-term value. We are growing deposits, increasing profitability and improving operating efficiency while maintaining strong capital, liquidity and asset quality. These independent rankings reinforce the strength behind that growth."

The recognitions come as CBC continues to post strong financial results. For the first half of 2026, the bank reported net income of $25.9 million, up 38.2% from the same period a year earlier, while net interest income increased 15% to $72.2 million.

As of June 30, 2026, CBC reported $4 billion in total assets, up 7.6% year over year. Deposits increased 13.2% to $3.5 billion, while loans grew 6.2% to $2.8 billion. The bank also improved its return on average assets to 1.36% from 1.05% and its efficiency ratio to 54.7% from 62.3% a year earlier.

"Looking ahead, our strategy remains clear: grow purposefully, strengthen our core banking franchise and continue building the scale and capabilities to support our clients and communities across California for the long term," Patel said.
