Lough Neagh commercial fisher convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' Court

John Quinn (52) of Derryloughan Road, Coalisland was convicted today at Dungannon Magistrates' Court of fishing illegally within 1610m of the defined mouth of a salmon river and of fishing with incorrectly marked fishing nets.

John Quinn was found guilty on both counts. A total fine of £315 consisted of £150 fine for each charge with an offender levy of £15.

John Quinn was observed fishing within the defined mouth of a salmon river and with setting incorrectly marked fishing nets on the 26/06/2025.

DAERA Inland Fisheries Inspectorate is committed to pursue those who fish illegally including in areas that are frequented by Atlantic salmon and trout.
