HARRISBURG - East Brunswick Township was recently awarded $943,888 through the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) to replace the Wild Turkey Lane bridge over the Indian Run Tributary, according to Rep. Jamie Barton (R-124) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-29).
"In our more rural part of the commonwealth, road and bridge maintenance is especially important," Barton said. "Getting this funding provides a huge boost to East Brunswick Township to make sure this crossing is safe for our drivers."
"Maintaining safe and reliable roads and bridges is essential to building strong communities, but these projects can be costly for local governments," Argall said. "I'm grateful that this highly competitive state funding was awarded to support this important improvement in East Brunswick Township."
The MTF, created by the General Assembly, provides funding to encourage economic development and a safe, reliable system of transportation to residents of Pennsylvania. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers many of Pennsylvania's economic development and community improvement programs.
