Explore Native art, culture and tradition at Cherokee Art Market Oct. 10-11

TULSA, Okla. - Cherokee Art Market returns Oct. 10-11, where guests can experience, explore and shop Native art. At one of the largest Native American art markets in the state, guests will enjoy the work of more than 170 Native American artists from across the country.

The family-friendly event is open to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is only $10, available online or at the door.

More than 40 tribes will be represented with artwork ranging from beadwork, pottery, paintings, basketry, sculptures, textiles and more.

"I have had the pleasure of witnessing Cherokee Art Market grow into one of the largest celebrations of Native art in the country," said Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. "As you walk through the market, every piece holds a connection to Native people, our history and the generations yet to come, providing a space for the stories to be seen, shared and carried forward."

Guests can meet directly with each juried artist and learn more about their work. In addition, the market features cultural demonstrations, presentations and conversations with some of the nation's top talent.

Participating artists compete for their share of more than $75,000 across nearly 30 categories, as well as special recognition such as Best of Show, Innovator Award, Culture Keeper and more.

The weekend begins Friday, Oct. 9, with the Cherokee Art Market Awards Reception at 6 p.m., bringing artists, collectors and guests together for an evening celebrating Indigenous artistic excellence. Guests can explore a special exhibition featuring competition artwork from participating artists, enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres and celebrate as this year's award-winning works are announced.

Guests can also get an early look at the market during early access hour hosted by Philbrook Art & Gardens, an exclusive preview hour beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday that features brunch bites and beverages. VIP access is available for guests looking to make the most of the weekend and includes general admission, access to the awards reception, access to the Bubbles & Bites lounge all weekend, early access hour and additional experiences throughout the event.
