Washington, D.C. - Today, Western Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke encouraged Montana students ages 14-17 to consider applying for the 2026 Patriot Games, a national competition highlighting leadership, athleticism, teamwork, and character as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.
The Patriot Games, organized through Freedom250, will bring together student-athletes from across the United States, territories, and tribal nations to compete in a series of physical and team-based challenges. The event will award $250,000 in scholarships to top competitors and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN platforms, including a primetime special on ABC.
"This is a great chance for Montana students to compete, meet kids from all over the country, have some fun, and maybe earn a $250,000 scholarship along the way." Zinke said. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to step onto the national stage and represent their state and country."
Applications are currently open at Freedom250.org and are due July 10, 2026. Selected participants will compete August 9-11, 2026, with final programming airing August 13 on ESPN and ABC.
Families, coaches, and educators across Montana are also encouraged to share the opportunity with eligible students who demonstrate leadership, resilience, and a strong commitment to excellence.
