Cotton production is projected to reach 906,000 metric tons (MT) in MY 2025/26 due to the adoption of Chinese seed technology, despite the reduced planting area of 875,000 hectares (ha). Dry weather conditions during the harvest ensured high-quality output with minimal losses. Post estimates harvest mechanization has reached 50 percent, driven by effective state agro-leasing programs. Competitive prices and strong yields have stabilized farmers' finances while encouraging the growth of cooperatives. Finally, the government secured the textile sector's stability through asset-backed debt restructuring and tax incentives.
