Worcester to Conduct Water Filtration Plant Maintenance

WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester will be performing essential maintenance of the municipality's Water Filtration Plant to improve its function and reliability. The work is scheduled for three overnight periods each spaced a week apart. The work is scheduled between 12 a.m. and 4 a.m. The work may cause a brief drop in pressure or a brief loss of water within this timeframe. Water service will be returned to normal at the conclusion of each overnight period.

All water users are encouraged to conserve water during the four-hour operational periods. Doing laundry, washing dishes, and other high consumptions tasks should be avoided whenever possible. Critical and large water users should take necessary actions.

The scheduled dates include:

  1. April 9, 2026, 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.
  2. April 16, 2026, 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.
  3. April 23, 2026, 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.
