On 12 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, India.

Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, including through the convening of the Political Consultations and the first Thailand-Belarus Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation. They also explored ways to advance trade and investment, particularly in the agricultural and food sectors, defense industry, aviation, and tourism. In this connection, both sides welcomed the inauguration of direct flights between Minsk and Bangkok in October 2026.

In addition, the Thai side sought support to expedite the commencement of an FTA negotiation between Thailand and Eurasian Economic Union, of which Belarus is a member. This would help create new trade opportunities between Thailand and the Eurasian region.
