WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) announced that a resolution he cosponsored commemorating May 5th, 2026, as a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls passed the U.S. Senate.
Last year, Heinrich cosponsored and secured Senate passage of the resolution.
The resolution is led by U.S. Senators Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.).
