Newton's Fourth of July celebrations will include a downtown parade and market on Saturday morning, followed by an evening of family activities and fireworks at Agnes Patterson Memorial Park. The Chamber of Commerce and Newton Main Street will host "Rolling Through the Decades" on Saturday, July 4. The Downtown Market opens at 7:30 a.m., and the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. The parade route stretches nearly a mile and will include more than 100 entries.
The City's evening celebration at Agnes Patterson Memorial Park starts at 5 p.m. with a free throw contest for three age groups: 12 and under, 13-17, and 18 and over. Sign-ups for the contest open at 5 p.m. as well. A Kids Zone with inflatables will be open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and a live DJ from Christian Connett Music will play from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
Food trucks Sugar & Spin, Hungry Boys, and Tikka Talk will be on site at the park, offering dinner and snacks throughout the evening.
