DALLAS - Dallas ISD's emergent bilingual students achieved major academic gains during the 2025-2026 school year, outperforming their peers statewide across all subjects and all three STAAR performance levels. The results reflect more than 20 years of investment in dual language education, which is offered at every Dallas ISD campus and supports bilingual students in building academic fluency in English and their native language. The achievement highlights multilingualism as a strength and a driver of student success.

Bond community meeting
Dallas ISD will host a Bond Zoning Community Meeting from 6 to 7 p.m., tonight, Aug. 24, at Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy to outline future plans for W.W. Samuell High School. Community members are invited to learn more about upcoming bond-funded facility improvements, hear directly from district representatives, and ask questions.
