North Dakota Farmers Union President Matt Perdue issued the following statement today in response to the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee's release of The Agricultural Act of 2026:
"The Senate farm bill proposal includes many of the same helpful provisions included in the House-passed version. It updates farm loan programs and reauthorizes voluntary conservation, rural development and farmer mental health programs. These updates will benefit family farmers and ranchers and their communities.
"We appreciate the process moving forward and hope the Senate addresses missed opportunities during the committee process. We will continue to advocate for bipartisan proposals that strengthen competition and transparency in fertilizer markets, and to advance year-round E15 for North Dakota producers."
