The 21st Annual Health Science Campus Artist Showcase is scheduled Monday, Feb. 2, through Wednesday, April 1, on the 4th floor of Mulford Library. Artwork from more than 20 artists in various fields of the health sciences at UToledo will be on display, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and mixed media.
An artist reception will be held Friday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m., also on the 4th floor of Mulford. A lecture titled "Embracing Artistic Inquiry" will be given at 4:30 p.m. by Heather Sloane Cleary, a professor of social work, and Dr. Aravindhan Natarajan, an associate professor in the School of Social Justice, both from the College of Health and Human Services. Their talk will explore the intersection of aesthetics and art-based inquiry with social work teaching, learning and research.
The reception and lecture are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
"This year's showcase highlights an inspiring range of creative talent from the UToledo health science community, and the reception lecture promises to offer a thoughtful and enriching complement to this celebration of health and the humanities," said HSC Artist Showcase Chair Jodi Jameson.
