On May 19, Ambassador Tigran Balayan met with the newly appointed Director-General of the European Anti-Fraud Office, Petr Klement.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for deepening Armenia-European Union cooperation, particularly in the areas of law enforcement, investigations, and the development of institutional capacities to combat fraud.

Special attention was given to opportunities for strengthening ties between Armenia's law enforcement and oversight bodies and European partner institutions.

The interlocutors emphasized that the further expansion of cooperation is in line with the priorities of the Armenia-EU strategic agenda and is based on the progress recorded following the Armenia-European Union summit.

The parties also highlighted the importance of effective cooperation in strengthening transparency, accountability, and institutional stability, noting that collaboration in these areas could contribute to Armenia's ongoing reform process and closer alignment with European standards.
