Motor Vehicle Collision – Fatality: C24-44499

On February 25, 2026, around 10:00 a.m., officers from the Winnipeg Police Service's Traffic Division responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision in the 2000 block of Portage Avenue.

Emergency services was onscene and the driver (the lone occupant), a man in his 40s was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

It has been determined the driver experienced a medical event while driving westbound on Portage Avenue, crashing into parked vehicles along the northside of the roadway.

Nobody else was injured during the collision.
