July Workshop Explains Just Cause Eviction Protections in Pasadena

PASADENA, Calif. - Understanding when and how a tenancy may legally end can raise important questions for both tenants and landlords. In general, just cause protections require landlords to have a legally recognized reason to end a tenancy. Pasadena's Rent Stabilization Charter includes just cause eviction protections for covered rental units, helping ensure that evictions are based on specific legal grounds and follow required procedures. The Rent Stabilization Department's upcoming workshop will walk attendees through these requirements under Pasadena's local rent stabilization laws.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Los Robles Building, located at 199 S. Los Robles Ave., 1st Floor Conference Room. Attendees may join in person or participate virtually via Zoom at Bit.ly/MonthlyRSDWorkshops .

The workshop will cover:

  • Legal Grounds for Eviction: Learn what qualifies as just cause for eviction under Pasadena law.
  • Required Notices and Procedures: Understand the notice requirements and procedures landlords must follow when terminating a tenancy.
  • Relocation Assistance: Learn when relocation benefits may apply, who may qualify, and how amounts are determined.

This workshop is an opportunity for the community to learn more about local eviction protections, ask questions, and connect with Rent Stabilization Department staff.

Parking Information:
Metered street parking is available on Euclid Ave. and Los Robles Ave. Additional non-validated parking is available in the garage below the Rent Stabilization Department building (entrance on Cordova St.) and at the Paseo parking lot (300 E. Colorado Blvd., main entrance on Green St.). Rent Stabilization staff are unable to validate parking for either location.
