PASADENA, Calif - The City of Pasadena's Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) reminds property owners that late fees for the 2026 Rental Registration cycle will begin on Sunday, November 8. Although the annual registration period ended October 31, property owners who have yet to complete the process are encouraged to take advantage of the remaining grace period to complete registration and avoid additional charges.
The seven-day grace period extends through Saturday, November 7, allowing property owners additional time to finalize their registration and work with RSD staff to address any questions or issues that may arise during the process. Beginning November 8, unpaid registration fees will be subject to additional charges that increase the longer payment remains outstanding. These late fees are charged in addition to the annual Rental Housing Fee of $236.54 per unit according to the following schedule:
| Late Period | Late Fee | Additional Fee Per Unit |
| November 8-December 15, 2026 | 15% | $35.48 |
| December 16, 2026-January 29, 2027 | 30% | $70.96 |
| January 30, 2027, and after | 50% | $118.27 |
Property owners who have yet to complete their registration can do so through the City's Rental Registry portal at Bit.ly/PasadenaRentalRegistry. Registration requires property owners to submit the necessary property and rental unit information and pay the Rental Housing Fee, unless exempt.
Certain properties and rental units may qualify for exemptions from registration requirements or the Rental Housing Fee. Property owners who believe they qualify are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and submit an exemption application through the Rental Registry for RSD review.
Property owners can submit payment using one of the following methods:
Payments must be made in full as partial payments are not accepted.
RSD staff remain available to assist property owners with registration questions. Property owners who need additional guidance may schedule an individual appointment with RSD staff through the Rental Registry website.
