Ratings reflect care, service, and member experience
CMS bases its Medicare star ratings on measures that reflect the quality of care and service health plans provide.
These measures include:
"These star ratings shine a light on the exceptional care and service we provide our Medicare health plan members," said Andrew Bindman, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer for Kaiser Permanente. "We are proud that these results recognize our ongoing commitments to prevention, timely treatment, access to care, and high-quality service."
Kaiser Permanente provides care to more than 2 million Medicare Advantage health plan members in 9 states and the District of Columbia.
"We're grateful to our highly skilled doctors, nurses, clinicians, and other team members," said Letitia Bridges, MD, executive vice president and chief quality officer for The Permanente Federation. "Maintaining these high ratings and increasing our stars in 3 plans demonstrates the value of our unique coordinated care model that brings together clinicians and team members to continuously improve the quality of care we provide."
