DEERFIELD, Ill., Nov. 5, 2026 - All of Walgreens' nearly 8,000 stores will operate regular business hours on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026. In addition, more than 4,000 Walgreens pharmacies will be open, providing customers and patients with convenient access to prescriptions, over-the-counter medications and pharmacist support.
For even the most organized host, Thanksgiving can serve up the unexpected. Whether it's a sudden case of the flu, a forgotten ingredient, unexpected heartburn or the realization that you need more aluminum foil just as guests arrive, there's almost always something that doesn't go according to plan.
With stores open regular business hours this Thanksgiving, Walgreens can help customers handle any unanticipated needs and get back to what matters most: enjoying the holiday with family and friends.
For added convenience, customers can also shop eligible items through 1 Hour Delivery and 30 Minute Pickup where available, giving them more ways to tackle last-minute needs without missing the celebration. Delivery times and availability may vary by location.
"Walgreens is a place people turn to for everyday needs and those unexpected moments when they need a little help," said Rick Gates, Chief Pharmacy and Enterprise External Affairs Officer, Walgreens. "Being open this Thanksgiving means we can be there when they need us, whether it's for a prescription, an unexpected health need or a forgotten essential that helps save the holiday. I'm especially grateful to the thousands of Walgreens team members working this Thanksgiving to serve patients and customers in their communities."
Walgreens is grateful to the team members who make this holiday access possible. Hourly team members who work on Thanksgiving will receive two times their regular rate of pay for the hours worked, recognizing the time they spend away from family and loved ones to serve customers and patients.
Founded in 1901, Walgreens (www.walgreens.com) proudly serves more than 9 million customers and patients each day across its nearly 8,000 stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Walgreens has approximately 211,000 team members, including roughly 85,000 healthcare service providers, and is committed to being the first choice for pharmacy, retail and health services, building trusted relationships that create healthier futures for customers, patients, team members and communities.
