At SVSU, auxiliary operations - including the bookstore, dining services and housing operations - are key to helping students succeed and thrive. Ronald Portwine, SVSU associate vice president for administration and business affairs and chief business officer, is helps guide those efforts every day.
Earlier this month, Portwine's commitment was recognized when he was selected for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) Presidential Service Award by current NACAS president LaNiece R. Tyree, who serves as assistant vice president, Auxiliary Enterprises at Howard University.
The award recognizes individuals who has made a lasting impact on NACAS and the auxiliary services profession, having given willingly of their time and expertise with the simple goal of improving the profession.
"Ron Portwine represents the very best of what NACAS stands for - collaboration, leadership and a genuine commitment to advancing the higher education auxiliary services profession. His dedication to excellence and his willingness to share his time and expertise have made a lasting impact on our community," Tyree said. "It has been a privilege to work alongside Ron, whose professionalism, vision and spirit of service continue to elevate both Saginaw Valley State University and the NACAS network as a whole."
